Domestic worker recruitment contracts concluded through the Musaned platform surpassed two million by the end of 2023, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development — an indicator of how widely Saudi households now rely on official, regulated recruitment channels.
The number of countries available for recruiting female domestic workers rose to 33 following the addition of Ethiopia, Burundi, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Gambia, broadening the options available to beneficiaries in terms of nationality, skills and cost.
On costs, the platform lowered the maximum recruitment price ceiling for several countries during 2023: SAR 14,700 for the Philippines, SAR 13,800 for Sri Lanka, SAR 11,750 for Bangladesh, SAR 9,000 for Kenya, SAR 8,300 for Uganda and SAR 5,900 for Ethiopia. Combined with competition among licensed offices, this allows beneficiaries to weigh price against service-quality ratings before choosing an office.
To safeguard rights, the platform provides a unified electronic contract documenting the relationship between employer and worker, while the number of approved companies and offices on the platform exceeded one thousand across the Kingdom. Musaned also signed agreements with several payment service providers to facilitate financial transfers related to domestic labour.
Other services included insurance on recruitment contracts, with more than 200,000 policies issued during 2023, and the worker transfer service between beneficiaries, used by over 60,000 beneficiaries — alongside the "Maaroufa" service allowing recruitment of a previously known worker at reduced cost. The platform recorded a satisfaction rate of 92%.
