Two Million Domestic Worker Recruitment Contracts from 33 Countries by 2023
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced its developmental steps to improve the domestic labor recruitment sector through the “Musaned” platform. This platform provides comprehensive services for the domestic labor sector, informing workers and beneficiaries of their rights and responsibilities, as well as procedures and mechanisms, all under one umbrella through licensed recruitment companies and offices. This aims to facilitate the procedures for recruiting domestic workers.
Over the past years, the ministry, through the Musaned platform, has achieved significant milestones in the recruitment sector by 2023. The total number of recruitment contracts processed through the Musaned platform has reached over two million contracts. This proactive step enhances the platform’s international standing, with new countries added to the list of those available for recruiting domestic workers, including Ethiopia, Burundi, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Gambia. The number of countries available for recruiting female domestic workers has reached 33, providing a wide range of options for beneficiaries.
